It was a busy first day of our Home 4 the Holidays adoption promotion. One little dog and five kittens were adopted! Two sets of babies went home together. 🧡😻🧡

Some may remember handsome Angel--a Southern New Mexico PAWS graduate who was with us for years. He came to us in terrible shape and looked like a skeleton because his health issues were neglected so long in his first home. He was adopted as a pup from the big shelter and then ended up back there.
Angel was very special needs because he has many serious health issues and has to be an only dog. And we finally found a hospice, longterm foster mom for him. He patiently spent years in a kennel with us after his graduation from our prison training program.
We thank Ruth for taking such good care of our special boy and giving him a loving home. We provide all the vet care for his skin cancer, Valley Fever, and allergies. Ruth read about Angel and came in specifically to take him home because we had been asking for years for someone to give him a chance and provide a hospice foster home. Ruth is also a generous APA Recurring Donor Hero!
Angel just had another procedure this past week to remove and cauterize more growths on his belly and legs. He's been a longtime patient at Schumacher Veterinary Clinic under Dr. Kyle's excellent care. And though his cancer will eventually spread internally and shorten his lifespan, we are incredibly grateful he has a loving home in which to live out his last years.

Angel is one of many in longterm or hospice foster homes because of health issues. We rather they live in a home than a kennel for years. When you become an APA Recurring Donor Hero, you support our unwavering commitment to our rescues for all their days.
